PLAI Festival Apps 2018

We first developed the PLAI Festival apps in 2013 as part of our pro bono initiative. Since then, we updated them each year to include new design elements and fit the event’s schedule, but this year’s update is the biggest. We decided to re-create them in a new, modern technology and with a fresh design.

During our internship programs, we focus on developing apps for organisations and the community from Timisoara. This year our interns worked on the PLAI Festival apps. They updated the design and functionalities of the app using React Native and Firebase.

The apps have a simplified tab navigation and trendy horizontal scrolls for the event categories and highlights. Events are organised into categories and days, plus, events and activities can now be marked as favorite and will appear in the Favorites tab in chronological order. 

Participants can also receive push notifications from the organisers and can read information about artists, the festival and browse the festival map.
